Rembrandt was an unsurpassed etcher. His keen eye and individual approach imbued his etchings with a personal character. These beautiful reproductions of Rembrandt's original etchings are hand printed by the Rembrandt House Museum, Amsterdam. The original etching is photographed then transferred to a copper plate. Using a stereomicroscope, an engraver cuts the etching into the plate, working with meticulous care to follow the hand of Rembrandt. Once ready, the print is created, coming a close as possible to the original etching.
